Bio
Dr. Uzer Khan has been board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care since 2015. He is also fellowship-trained in surgical critical care with special clinical focus in the areas of critical care ultrasonography and its use in the resuscitation of the critically ill. Dr. Khan has also been engaged in the development of ECMO programs and in the education of surgical trainees – he has been associate program director of a general surgery residency program and fellowship director of a surgical critical care program. In addition to his practice, Dr. Khan currently serves as an associate professor in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
Dr. Khan earned his medical degree at Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his general surgery residency at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown before going on to complete his surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Maryland/R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Dr. Khan has written numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and periodically presents on topics related to surgical critical care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of many organizations, including the Eastern Association for Surgery in Trauma, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and Surgical Critical Care Program Directors Society.
