Bio
Dr. Alyssa Mowrer has worked in the area of general surgery since 2017 and has been a board-certified general surgeon since 2021. Her clinical interests and focus include pediatric/pediatric trauma surgery, abdominal surgery and surgical care for women’s health issues. She previously served as a clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at Medical College of Wisconsin, where she provided care to newborn and pediatric patients experiencing surgical problems or trauma.
Dr. Mowrer earned her medical degree and completed her general surgery residency while attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. She then completed a clinical research fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Mowrer also holds a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins School of Education in Baltimore, Md. She is especially passionate about advancing the surgical care of our nation’s youngest residents as well as women.
Dr. Mowrer is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgery Association, Association of Surgical Education, Association of Women Surgeons and Pediatric Trauma Society.
